My therapy approach goes beyond addressing the surface symptoms; I delve deeply into understanding the unique needs and challenges of each individual.
There may be universals to the stuttering experience, but the way it touches each of our lives is unique. I listen because your experience is yours alone; together we will find goals that feel right for you and play with methods of achieving them. My number one mission is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and ways of communicating.
It can feel isolating to be a person who stutters, especially if you’re the only one in your community with this experience. Parents of children who stutter can feel similarly secluded. You are not alone! I believe connection is essential to moving forward with a stutter, whether it be through watching videos of other folks who stutter or joining events like the monthly Stutter Sunday meetup in Seattle. We have so much to learn from one another.
We don’t shy away from differences at Speech Bubbles; we embrace being a little quirky, and I hope you feel empowered to be your full selves as a result. Often, being “different” leads to creativity when solving problems because we view the world with unique perspectives. Plus, our own vulnerability leads to deeper trust between us, and trust is fundamental to making difficult-but-worthwhile change. We’ve got too much to offer to stigmatize differences - let’s use them to our advantage!

Aly has been a tremendous help in navigating the waves that stuttering can bring. We very much love her acceptance over fixing approach. Aly took the right amount of time getting to know my 13 year old daughter before jumping into the therapeutic aspect, which I think is key. I would highly recommend Aly’s expertise services. She will be my “go to” if and when we need services again.

My child always looks forward to our appointments with Aly. She is an expert in her field and has helped us understand more about stuttering and our child's triggers. Aly strives to find creative ways to reach our goals in each session and her overall positive energy is contagious. Aly is committed to her continuing education courses and provides us with evidence based research and current practices. We highly recommend Aly! It's also super convenient she offers in home appointments!

Ms. Aly has been so instrumental in helping Kyle with his stuttering. She not only taught Kyle skills he can use when he gets stuck talking, but at the same time she encourages Kyle to tackle stuttering from the inside. We learned about stuttering, and understood to accept it. Kyle learned how to build confidence and teach others about stuttering. She is such a well rounded speech therapist that we kept in touch with her after she moved. We have periodic check ins to make sure Kyle continues to get the support he needs. I thank Ms. Aly from the bottom of my heart for all she has done for Kyle.

Our family has learned so much from Aly! Working with her has helped all of us understand what cluttering is and how to address it in a positive and supportive way. She made a daunting process feel doable for our busy family – and even fun. Every session is designed to support our son’s awareness of his speech to empower him (and us too) to improve his communication when he needs to. Aly is responsive, kind, and works hard to incorporate our son’s preferences and involve him in decision-making.

Our family has been so impressed with Aly's ability to engage with our son over Zoom and with the quality of the activities and homework she has prepared. She has worked with our son on his stutter (with a focus on building self-confidence around stuttering), and production of "sh" and "r" sounds. It is clear that Aly spends significant time outside of our sessions preparing materials to make them specific to our child's interests and to meet him where he's at developmentally (e.g by incorporating physical activities into the lessons to allow him body movement breaks). Our son enjoys his time with Aly and also enjoys doing the homework activities she assigns each week. We really can't express enough how happy we are to have found Aly!

Adult client
Aly is amazing to work with, and she pairs empathy and patience well together when providing speech therapy. As an adult patient, weekly visits are important to me and Aly is enthusiastic in tailoring the experience to my needs.
